DSP Jazz Trio” features Derek Reiss, trumpet and flugelhorn, percussionist Skip Taylor, and Pete Mark, trombone and vocal.
DSP Jazz Trio, playing jazz music you’ll want to listen to. American song book, the Gershwins, Cole Porter, ect… music made famous by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole… the music of Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Chuck Mangione will be included. Standards and jazz classics, swing music and dixieland. Derek, Skip, and Pete will sing and play it all.

Gardeners are asked to think of the Center when dividing plants over the next several weeks.
Please pot a few plants before May 11 if possible, label them, and drop them off at the Center on May 20 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. to receive ten percent off your purchase at the sale.
Plants can be dropped off early on the Wright Center front porch.

Kids Fitness Classes
Inspire Fitness will hold kids fitness classes for ages 7 to 14 every Saturday beginning April 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Certified personal trainer, Nicole Cummings, designs the classes to make fitness fun for kids by incorporating key fitness concepts into fun games, workouts, and healthy competition as well as learning to practice good habits for a healthy life.
Classes run approximately 45 minutes where the kids will learn the basic fundamentals of fitness; flexibility, balance, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, and body composition. Teen Movie Nights Third Friday of the month
RESPITE CARE – Hearts and Hands and the C. Dee Wright Community Center are partnering on a Dementia Respite program. “Dementia Respite at the Wright” will offer support to those caring for loved ones with early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia by providing a safe and friendly environment to leave their loved one while taking care of their own medical, social and emotional needs. Akron Parents of Children with Special Needs
Akron Parents of Children with Special Needs meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The group is parents helping parents deal with the everyday stressors of being having a child with special needs, with the reminder you are not alone.
They will host a presentation on Preparing for a Meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Parents and individuals with disabilities have the opportunity to participate in various meetings with professionals throughout a school year, including the annual Committee on Special Education.
Participants will walk away with tips on how to be prepared, organized and learn how to be a powerful advocate. To reserve a spot call (716) 332-4170.
YOGA CLASSES are offered at the Wright Center. A One-hour class is offered on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. and a one-hour class is offered on Fridays at 9:15 a.m. There is a per class fee with those attending nine classes received the tenth class free. There is a Senior Discount and your first class is half price. Aubrey Fan, RYT-200 is leading the classes. Please bring a mat or towel to class. AkTon APPLICATIONS – Do you know someone who needs some home maintenance work done and can’t because of health, financial, and/or other circumstances? AkTon, a coalition of our church and community and Tonawanda Indian Baptist and Highpoint churches and communities, is accepting requests for home maintenance work which is important, but which the homeowner cannot complete for health, financial, or other significant reasons. AkTon will evaluate project applications and work to match them with local teams as well as Volunteer in Mission Teams from throughout the country. Each team will have an opportunity to experience Native culture during their time together. More information is available on the Welcome Center.
